GROUND BEEF MACARONI

We are kickstarting this series with this SAUCY, mouthwatering ground beef macaroni which makes a lovely main course and Dinner. Make time during the weekend, get the ingredients, put on some afrobeats (if you need suggestions hit me up!) and lets make this deliciousness at home!

Here is what you need
- ground beef
- macaroni
- canned tomatoes
- oil
- onion
- garlic
- bell pepper
- Spices of course!

How to make Ground beef macaroni

Saute veggies over medium heat then add minced meat to cook till browned
add canned tomatoes and let it boil till reduced then add heavy cream
lastly add boiled macaroni to the mix, a little pasta water and give it a few minutes.

Quick tips
- Any type of pasta can be used-spaghetti, penne, rotini. Remember to refer to the box for cooking time
- You can used shredded chicken, sausage meat and eaten ground pork as alternative meats. Your kitchen is your workshop
- Dont throw away all the pasta water,YOU NEED IT! A dash of pasta water in your sauce adds a subtle Vim to your dish. What this does is that I thickens the sauce and you end up with a saucy, perfectly coated pot of pasta.
- cheese is an optional ingredient.

How to store pasta
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.

Ground Beef Macaroni
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion finely diced
- 3 cloves of garlic minced
- 1 can tomatoes paste
- 1 can diced tomatoes or 4 fresh tomatoes (diced)
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1 lb macaroni or any pasta
- olive oil to fry
Spices
- salt
- black and white pepper
- paprika
- stock cube
- oregano
- thyme
- rosemary
Instructions
Boil pasta
- Boil a large pot of water and add a large table spoon of salt. The water should be a bit salty.
- Cook pasta according to packet MINUS 2 minutes.
Make sauce
- Add some oil to a pan and sauté onion and garlic till both are golden brown and fragrant
- Add tomatoes paste and canned tomatoes and let it cook on for 10 minutes or till it reduces .
- Add ground beef and let it cook till brown. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, rosemary, bayleaf and 1 stock cube. Then add bell peppers to the sauce and let it cook for an additional 5 minutes
- At this point you should drain your macaroni reserving some of that pasta water. Then transfer the macaroni to the sauce
- Toss gently with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes and if you find that the sauce is too thick then add a pasta water till you reach you desired consistency.
- Turn off heat and serve!
